New Haven Intermediate is fully committed to our vision of nurturing academic excellence and demonstrating leadership through character development. This vision has helped make New Haven Intermediate a NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL in the past and my goal is for us to be there again. We will strive for this goal through….
ACADEMICS: We are committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment that best meets the needs of our students. We have a rigorous curriculum that includes higher level work to students that excel and tutoring/intervention support for those who struggle.
SUCCESS: Each morning, students start their day with a 30 minute period of re-teaching or enrichment (decided from their assessment scores) in math or language arts as the data indicates. This has been instrumental in bringing our state grade from a C to an A!
INCENTIVES: We are a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. While we do have consequences when necessary, we focus on rewarding good behavior. Students have opportunities all day everyday to earn Paws which can be traded in for Bulldog Bucks and spent at our Bulldog Store each month. We also announce names and give bracelets for each level of math fact mastery. We offer many other incentives such as attendance and bus behaviors.
GUIDANCE: Our Guidance programming includes The Six Pillars of Character Counts which is used to teach all students the importance of having good character throughout their life: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. We also offer skill and social groups, classroom lessons and individual counseling as needed.
We are passionately committed to giving all of our students the tools for success in every step of their life. Dream it. Do it.
